Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and how to accept, reject or change your mind at any time.
Last updated: 1 July 2026
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a page. Similar technologies such as localStorage work the same way. They let a page remember something between visits — for example, that you already answered our consent banner.
2. Your choice comes first
When you arrive, a small banner appears at the bottom of the screen. Nothing optional is set until you choose. Reject optional and every page continues to work exactly as it does with everything accepted — you simply are not measured. Accept all additionally allows anonymous analytics.
3. Cookies we use
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ccr_cookie_consent | Strictly necessary | Records whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies so the banner is not shown again. | 6 months |
| ccr_session | Strictly necessary | Maintains page state and protects the contact form against abuse. | Session only |
| ccr_analytics_id | Analytics (optional) | Anonymous, aggregated measurement of which reviews are read and where readers arrive from. Set only if you accept. | 13 months |
We do not use advertising, retargeting, profiling or cross-domain tracking cookies, and we do not sell data to advertising networks. We do not embed third-party widgets that set cookies on our behalf.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the publication to function and to honour your consent choice. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they do not require consent, but they are listed above for transparency. They contain no personal identifiers.
5. Analytics cookies
If you accept, we collect aggregated statistics: pages viewed, approximate region, device type and referring source. IP addresses are truncated before storage. We use this only to decide which reviews to update first. It is never used to identify you and is never shared for marketing.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may mean the consent banner reappears on each visit.
- Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookie controls
- Edge — Settings › Cookies and permissions
- Safari — Settings › Privacy › Manage Stored Data
- Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Stored Data
7. Legal basis
Optional cookies are set only with your consent under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and the UK GDPR. Consent can be withdrawn at any time using the button in section 2 with no detriment to your access.
